  Definitely a great place to go in the summertime or even on warm days. They always have a ranger doing speeches. The walk around the lake is not long and pretty flat (you should wear bug repellant though). They also will also let you know if there is too much fog to see the dome at the Johnston Memorial center at the top of the mountain. A must-see for any out-of-towners or if you haven't seen it yet!!

  Nice little center to learn the basics about the eruption. Admission is 5 dollars and there is a gift shop - hours are limited during off peak seasons, but they are open during the winter. The center itself is small - but if you've never seen anything about the eruption before than you could easily spend an hour or two here reading everything. There is also a movie to watch (which I would recommend). Overall a good little experience, and very good for kids.
